Important information during the COVID situation
This page will be used to give current and past information regarding the coronavirus pandemic and how it affects our school, our children, our staff and our families.
On Friday 20th March 2020 the government instructed all schools to close for all but the children of key workers for the 'foreseeable future'.

Iver Heath Infant school and Nursery closed but continued to provide a safe space for the children of our key workers throughout the rest of March, April, May, June and up until the summer holidays from 17th July.
During this time our teachers continued to teach the children everyday via the online app, 'Seesaw'. This provide a platform for the teachers to teach and for the children to respond with posts showing their learning. This app proved to be a huge success with the teachers, the children and their parents as it ensured not only that the children continued with their learning but also that we were able to maintain communication with our families throughout the school closure period.
During this time the staff also created various videos for the children and their families which were sent out and are also available on the school website home page.
From Tuesday 9th June we opened our doors to children in Nursery and Reception classes. These children returned to school in small 'pods' of up to 8 children and 1 adult.
From Tuesday 16th June we opened our doors to children in Year 1 classes. These children returned to school in 'pods' of up to 15 children and 1 adult.
During this time our staff worked tirelessly to ensure that the children, staff and families of our school remained safe. Staff took on different roles including extra cleaning with the aim of maintaining a healthy COVID-free environment.
Our children returned with enthusiasm and maturity. It was a delight to have them back in school and to be able to regain a little normality.
Due to the success of these returns we were then able to offer a short return to our Year 2 children before they left us to move onto their junior schools in September. The Year 2 children returned to 'pods' of up to 15 children with 1 adult. It was lovely to have this opportunity to say goodbye and good luck to the children and their families.
From September 2020 the government has instructed all schools to open fully and education will become mandatory again. The school has spent the summer preparing for this event and we will continue to ensure that the school environment remains as safe as possible. The children will return to 'pods' that are class sized ie 30 children and 2-3 adults. The one way system and staggered start and drop offs will continue to minimise contact between pods and families.
